6th Annual Indigenous Celebration
Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026 Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Location: 501 S. Florissant Rd. The 6th Annual Indigenous Celebration is a vibrant invitation to honor the heritage and resilience of Indigenous cultures. While the celebration centers Indigenous Nations of North, Central, and South America, we also honor and welcome Indigenous peoples from around the world whose traditions, histories, and contributions enrich our shared human story. Hosted in the heart of Ferguson, Missouri, this event is a living canvas of tribal traditions—from music and regalia to artisan crafts and ancestral games. Created by and for the community, the celebration welcomes citizens eager to learn, connect, and participate. It is not a performance, but a dialogue—with Indigenous voices leading the way. The celebration follows strict environmental guidelines. Styrofoam and plasticware are not permitted, and recycling, compost, and trash stations will be staffed to ensure proper sorting and to protect Mother Earth. The event draws more than 3,000 attendees annually, including families, educators, youth, elders, and community partners. Event Overview ● Purpose: To foster learning, celebration, and respectful participation in Indigenous cultures—primarily those of North, Central, and South American Tribal Nations. ● Focus: Education on cultural protocols, promotion of Indigenous voices, traditions, and community-centered activities. ● Audience: Citizens of all backgrounds seeking to deepen their understanding of Indigenous culture and support its preservation. Indigenous cultures are frequently misunderstood, misrepresented, and underrepresented. This event aims to provide a platform for Indigenous voices to share their unique traditions and heritage from their respective tribal nations, highlighting both their triumphs and ongoing challenges. By fostering understanding and awareness, we hope to explore ways to support Indigenous peoples in preserving their rich cultures, especially during this critical time when their continuity faces significant threats. Indigenous peoples have made significant contributions to various causes worldwide, both historically and in the present day. Their rich cultural heritage promotes harmony and peace—values that are urgently needed in our modern world. In a society where Indigenous voices are too often marginalized or suppressed, we are committed to fostering equality within our community and promoting a deeper understanding and respect among all people.
